The Labour-Rights-Responsibilities-Guide for Successful CSR Management - A Matter of Size?

The last few decades have brought about an exponential growth in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, some of which are almost incomprehensible to those without pertinent experience in CSR business policies. This problem most often applies to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); but also multinationals (MNEs) might face difficulties in choosing a CSR tool ideally suited for their specific requirements.

The Labour-Rights-Responsibilities-Guide (LARRGE) addresses the need to guide entrepreneurs through this jungle of CSR tools by means of an online database comprising more than 60 tools. It is the result of a 16-month EU funded research project, which provides companies and CSR practitioners with an overview of excellent CSR tools (codes of conduct, e-learning tools, self-assessments etc.) currently used on the European and the global level. All tools have been evaluated as to their compliance with labour and work related human rights standards. As a specific feature the LARRGE Guide additionally includes practical user feedback for a broad range of tools.Web users are warmly invited to contribute their expertise and practical experiences via the commenting feature provided for each tool and to contribute to ongoing dialogue and exchange.

After 18 months of research, stakeholder consultations, interview and survey evaluation, the Labour-Rights-Responsibilities-Guide (LARRGE) has been finalised! Following a postponement of the LARRGE Final Conference, caused by the dispruptions in European air travel in mid-April, the LARRGE Guide has eventually been launched in the course of the  European SME Week 2010, on 1 June 2010 in Brussels.
